[You better not. Sousei doesn't usually cuddle. But he's thinking about what to write on Soramaru's skin and it's not like he doesn't carry a small ink and brush set in his things. He just needs to lazily fetch them from his pockets and uncap the ink well (easier to carry around then an ink stone but less elegant). And dip the brush, make a single stroke on Soramaru's shoulder blade while he holds him, thoughtful.]

[ it's one stroke, but made with the intent to mark so it hits. --he tries not to shudder, because that may mess up what sousei is doing. ]

[He keeps going, slowly, the brush chill where it tickles Soramaru's skin. Each new stroke made with care.]

[ he balls his hand into sousei's shirt, closing his eyes and steadying his breathing. ]

[What he writes isn't his name, not that Soramaru can see the kanji on his back. When he's done he kisses the top of Soramaru's head. ]

What did you write?

[ tries to turn to see it...??? ]

[You'll have to be an owl or find a mirror. But it's something like beloved precious thing or whatever is closest to that in meaning.]

---pulls some blanket up over him because, surprisingly, being naked in winter is cold ]

[Tugs them over yes, blanket cuddles are good. ]

[Eyes closed, calm, back to absently stroking Soramaru's hair. ]

He's going to accuse me of taking advantage of you at the very least.

I certainly hope that's true. But even so he won't be out of line in thinking it.

Yes, he would! I asked! --If anything, you didn't want to!

[Just looks at him.]

Don't go that far. I didn't want to take advantage of you, wanting to do this with you is another matter.

[Um of course he wanted to or he wouldn't have. Well that might not be true he did things he doesn't want out of necessity all the time but that's not the point here. ]

I still had to ask you.

[He tilts Soramaru's head up and looks him in the eye.]

Just because you're my student and I trust and rely on you doesn't mean there aren't things I'm cautious about too. I believe you're capable, I believe when you say you're ready for things, I trust your judgement. But even I feel protective of you now and then. A position of authority is an easy thing to abuse.

[ --sighs. ]

You don't have to try and protect me too...

There are different ways of protecting people. You're an adult who can make his own choices. I respect that. But you're also my student. I also have to be careful not to abuse your trust.

You've said. I believe you. Do you think I'd do this with you if I didn't believe that?

[ shakes his head... ]

So calm down. It's natural to protect what you care about. That doesn't mean I'm going to stifle or hide you away. I need you, I'll need your help. So I'll be relying on you.
